POSTING COMMENTS HELP
An important part of what we do here at Race Fans Forever includes interaction from you, the fans. We continuously strive to make your time with us more enjoyable, informative, and entertaining. Part of this initiative was the implementation of the new Comments box which is provided by LiveFyre. Here are some answers to some questions we have heard about using LiveFyre.
The Comments box does not appear.
The Internet is a funny place. Sometime code doesn't work the way it is supposed to the first time. Try refreshing your page. That usually works.
Why do I have to log in?
How are we supposed to know who you are, silly? The log in function is one which is provided by LiveFyre to keep people true to their word about who they are, or at least who they are on the Internet! Every user on LiveFyre will have a unique user name which is created by the user. We can't just have everyone posting as Brian France, can we?
Do I have to use my real information?
Absolutely not. Again, the beauty of the Internet is that if you don't want to have a face, you don't have to have one. You can choose to comment as a guest. A screen will appear with several options on the left side and the "sign up" info on the right. Type in a name. Give an email address, real or fake. You don't need to add a website....it's optional. The next screen will ask if you want to make a LiveFyre account. You don't have to. You can select "Comment As Guest" and you'll be magically transported back to the column you wanted to make a comment about. Please understand, however, if you choose to comment as a guest, we will not be able to respond directly to your post as we would to others. Instead, we'll make a new post and direct it toward your attention. You'll be able to find it as a new post somewhere near the top of the list! That's about covers the "posting as a guest" option. Alternatively, you can create a LiveFyre account with a bogus name, a bogus avatar, even a bogus email address, and a password you'd never even think about using for anything else anywhere. You can be "KylePettysHair" with a email address of [email protected] if you want, and your password can be "SmileKyle123". Just remember, if you want to return and comment in the future, you'll probably need that password, so write it down somewhere, huh?
Can I just send an email with my comments?
Sure can, and if that is the route you choose, we support you!
If I sign in with another app, such as twitter or Facebook, is LiveFyre going to post on my behalf?
Not unless you tell it to do so. I have been on LiveFyre for a few weeks now, and have logged in with Facebook and Twitter, as well as my own LiveFyre account, and nothing has been posted for me to my knowledge. Again, if you're worried about the big bad Internet, the best route would be to sign up as a guest, where you just need to create a username and a password. This takes less than 60 seconds to complete.
