J. L. Steele
J. L. Steele resides in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee with his wife and two daughters. Some of his earliest memories involve family outings at local tracks in the areas he grew up in.
Growing up in a family of Petty people, he was a fan of Darrell Waltrip from about 1977 until Waltrip's retirement in 2000. The first NASCAR Cup race he attended in person was Davey Allison's victory in the 1992 Winston 500 at Talladega. He believes Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville is the best short track in the country and that David Pearson defines "NASCAR cool."
